What I wanted from this ball: I was looking for a stronger ball than the newer Pro Motions I've drilled. Pro Motion seems to be an outstanding medium oil, everyday ball reaction type of product. Some would call it a benchmark type of ball. I wanted something for higher volumes of oil that would out-hook the Pro Motion.

What I ended up with in this ball: The Gravity Evolve by Storm is exactly as advertised. They started with the Shape-Lock HD core that revs super early, helping the bowler to create friction in the front of the lane. The lower rg design gives this ball a fast spin rate, helping to create mid-lane ball reaction. Combined with the new Spec cover first used on the Crux Prime, followed by the Pro Motion, the Gravity Evolve handles nearly any volume with ease. This ball has plenty of mid-lane friction but continues far better in the backend than a Crux Prime. With the stronger core shape, this ball is smoother off of the friction than a Pro Motion. All of this makes the Gravity Evolve a great choice on heavier oil lane conditions.

I've also thrown this Gravity Evolve with polish on the surface. This got the ball much further down the lane before it changed direction, but it still maintained the arcing/continuous hooking backend. I didn't find that polishing a ball like the Crux Prime was very successful for many bowlers. But Gravity Evolve should be far easier to tune in to the lane condition and bowler as needed.

Overall this piece seems to be a nice addition to the Storm lineup. You can see the end of the Physix coming in their ball line, and this one will be a solid replacement. Stop by TBG and we'll tell you more about this great piece from Storm Bowling!
