900 Global is back with a reincarnation of the original Zen. Zen 25 pairs the Meditate symmetric weight block with A.I. technology, with a RB83 Pearl Reactive cover that has been coated with Power Edge Polish. Power Edge is the new polish that Storm has used on Phaze A.I., the Origin, and now the Zen 25. All of these balls have shown remarkable improvement over the Reacta Gloss balls of years past. Zen 25 is exactly what you would expect versus previous versions. Here you have a beefed-up cover with a polish that still creates traction, on a proven core shape. This one is just fantastic ball motion overall.
I drilled my Zen 25 with my standard pin up layout. This is a layout that I used on an original Zen with great success. Zen 25 is exactly what I thought it would be on the lanes. The lower rg core revs quickly off the hand and creates a mid-lane traction not often found in polished balls. Most users found original Zens to be a controlled, but hard arc shape. I see exactly that when I through the Zen 25. It's continuous down-lane without being angular in shape. I also found the Zen 25 to be very clean through the front of the lane, despite it wanting to grab in the mid-lane. Not once have I seen this ball grab up in the heads and get offline.
Surface changes weren't necessary for me with the Zen 25. I had fantastic motion out of the box and have no intention of cutting the polish at all. We didn't do that to many original Zens either, and I don't think many users will want to should they choose to purchase a Zen 25.
Zen 25 offers a unique color on the wall as well right now. For whatever reason, pink and purple has been everywhere on balls this year, and more reserved colors like Zen 25 haven't been as frequent in the latest intros. Sometimes it's nice to just get a "normal" colored ball that's easy to read on the lane.
Zen 25 will be available at TBG on January 17th!
