The hands-down best selling of 2021 has been the 900 Global Zen. It's a polished symmetric core ball that has matched up to a ton of different styles and lane conditions. Much like some of the most popular balls of all-time, it just seems to have the "it" factor. The second intro in the series from 900 Global is the Zen Master, a 3000 grit sanded monster using the same Meditate symmetric core.
I went with a pin up drilling on the Zen Master because I couldn't imagine being able to throw this ball anywhere with a lower pin, earlier drilling layout. I'm really glad I did after throwing this ball in a few places. This ball flat out hooks. It needs a significant amount of oil to get down the lane before it unleashes one of the largest motions in bowling right now. With the area centers generally being a bit drier this season, I've had a fairly limited use window with the Zen Master. But it wouldn't surprise me if this ball is very good on some of the slicker events later in the season such as Greater Ozarks or the Open Championships.
Zen Master is going to be particularly good for our customers looking for earlier/more hook. It's specifically designed for them and will match up their games well. I didn't try adjusting the surface on this ball, as I still have an original Zen drilled the same way. Out of the box these two balls are literally 10-15 boards different in my opinion. Pairing up the S77 Response Solid cover with a 3000 grit finish makes Zen Master a far stronger reaction than the Zen.
900 Global has been one of the fastest growing brands in bowling in the last 12 months. With the backing of Storm and Roto Grip engineering and manufacturing, this brand has grown exponentially in sales, and balls like the Zen series are certainly staples in their product line. If you're looking for something new for medium oil, everyday league conditions, check out an original Zen. For super heavy oil and a huge increase in traction, look no further than this Zen Master. It is one of the largest hooking balls in bowling right now.
